MUSICALLY CONSEQUENTIAL
Before the film, came the album. Nafada, the collaboration (and album’s namesake), was the brainchild of ethno-darkwave, medieval goth and atmospheric electronic music creator KNQSTDR (Konqistador) — a Detroit-based arts collective that embraced a vision to develop music through a ‘no borders, no boundaries’ approach to music creation.
The album sets out to challenge traditional conventions by inviting female artists from the MENA region to work with musicians from the West. The result? A genre-bending collaboration fusing hip-hop (the language of resistance) with industrial music (anti-establishment/anti-governance) to create a platform that not only defies industry norms but provides a new vehicle for message delivery that, by its very existence, represents a new and formidable act of musical defiance.

REDEFINING CONCERT FILMS
Nafada - An Audio Uprising adopts a unique and refreshing multi-disciplinary approach to storytelling. This musically consequential and intersectional film uses a variety of artistic methods and mediums to strengthen the overall message and intention behind Nafada — and in doing so has positioned itself as a multi-arts project of critical and significant importance.
Through its prompt and response style of interviewing, the utilization of live concert and virtual performance footage, synchronized projection, image mapping, AI and mixed media application, this film aims to amplify the messages and stories within, using an array of sonically and visually captivating tools that appeal to all the senses in a way that no other art medium has the power to replicate on its own.
